The Countdown has started

As the days draw in and autumn settles over Lincoln, it’s time to start thinking about one of the West End’s most cherished traditions. We’re delighted to announce that West End Lights 2025 will take place on Friday, 5th December from 6 pm to 9 pm.

For those new to the area, West End Lights is our annual home-grown festival of light when front windows become cinema screens, shadow puppets emerge from the darkness, and light sculptures bloom in gardens across the neighbourhood. Created entirely by volunteers and local residents, it’s a night when the West End comes alive with creativity and community spirit.

What’s Happening This Year?

We’ve already been busy behind the scenes. A design competition is underway with local schools, and we’ll soon be revealing the winning entry. Watch this space!

We’re also grateful to The Sycamore for sponsoring our posters and postcards again this year. They’ll be arriving in your letterboxes soon, so keep an eye out.

Get Involved

Whether you’re a seasoned illuminator or considering taking part for the first time, we’d love to have you join us. The only rule is that your creation should be suitable for families and bring a smile to faces on a cold winter’s night.

If you’re already on our illuminators mailing list, you’ll receive regular updates as we get closer to the event. If not, or if you have friends and neighbours who might be interested, please direct them to our Illuminators page to sign up.

Got an idea for making West End Lights even better? We’d love to hear from you.
